'Studio' - Communication and Multimedia Design
During the second year of CMD, every student gets the opportunity to work on a personal project for a few weeks. This project was called Studio.
To finalize my pattern, I chose to silkscreen print it. At Kapitaal in Utrecht, with the help of Ramon Goedvree, I screen printed my pattern. During this process, I also decided to expand a number of prints with a yellow print, placed on top of it at an angle. This created a new distortion.
Because I wanted to show my pattern to the viewer in an even more intense way, I wanted to make it as large as a wall. Making my own wall proved to be the best option for this, so I converted my dorm room into a painting studio. The photos below show this the process.
At the end of the project, an exhibition took place at the Hogeschool in Utrecht in January (2019). Here, my 'wall' and silkscreen print stood in the middle of the space. A short animation of my entire process within the project was shown on the back of the 'wall'.
I also had the opportunity to exhibit my work during the X=Festival in April (2019). This took place in the Louis Hartlooper Complex.
